S&E Is Going Free
As our trip to Italy winds down, I'm filled with gratitude and feeling generous.
Hello my beautiful, fashionable, supportive friends,
This is just a heads up to say that Style and Error will be completely free beginning this afternoon.
Things are changing rapidly in my life right now. I want my content to keep pace and not become stale. And I believe I can produce more interesting, fun, free-wheeling dispatches for you to read if I don’t have the constant nagging in the back of my mind: What if they feel this isn’t valuable enough? What if this isn’t what they feel they agreed to?
If you’re a paid subscriber, you’ll receive a refund from Substack; if you’re not, nothing will change except that you should totally hit the archives, because everything is free now.
Here’s an outfit inspired by all the in-season strawberries I’ve been eating lately. The dress, chain belt, and pouch are all from my favorite Bolognese thrift store, La Leonarda, which donates all its profits to help the homeless. The socks I bought from Sheertex, which makes near-indestructible hosiery in fun patterns and colors. And the flowers are everywhere here.
The reviews on this one were rave: most colorfully, I was told that I looked like I was headed to the park to blow bubbles by myself. Which is completely something I would do. Also that Zooey Deschanel would wear this outfit. It’s all about the chartreuse socks, baby—I lean into eccentric old lady chic whenever possible.
And what of all these changes in my life? Well, more on that soon, if you’re interested. In the meantime, thanks for hanging out with me, and please tell a friend.
